HISTORY
In the beginning...
The concept for NETconsent evolved in the year 2000. Organisations were giving employees increasing access to the Internet and beginning to understand the legal and business imperatives for monitoring their employees' appropriate use of technology provided as a work tool. A legal requirement for such monitoring to take place is that employees have agreed to thIS policy. WEBconsent was developed as a practical solution to the distribution of an acceptable usage policy at the point users launched the web browser. Using technology saved an impossible administrative task of ensuring that everyone signed up before policy infringements could be committed and enabled organisations to update the policy quickly to keep pace with technological changes.

It quickly became apparent that other IT resources also required Acceptable Usage Policies. LANconsent and MAILconsent were developed, which also enforced the electronic signing of policies before people used IT related resources.
NETconsent evolves
The NETconsent suite brought together these early products into one brand in 2004. As compliance issues began to shoot up Boardroom agendas, non IT related departments also began to identify the benefits of automating policy and procedure management.
Policies effectively communicated
Today NETconsent has evolved into the leading automated policy and procedure system, with modules for testing comprehension of policies and procedures, sophisticated reporting of policy and procedure compliance, employee polling and assessment capabilities and announcement dissemination. Organisations increasingly recognise that good goverance starts with policies, which are effectively communicated to and understood by employees and contractors.
Better still
When everyone really understands what is expected of them and why, behaviour is modified, best practice followed and efficiency and bottom line results dramatically improve. |
