Devon Information Security Group confirms another contract for NETconsent
5th November 2007 – NETconsent , leading policy management software specialists, has today announced Plymouth City Council as a new addition to their growing customer portfolio. PCC is the fourth member of the Devon Information Security Group (DISG) to sign up to NETconsent following a recent software evaluation project.
As part of the City Council’s plans to become an excellent authority, policy management procedures were highlighted as a key management control that would positively impact on future auditing practices. NETconsent was selected on the advice from the DISG as a tool that could both ease management headaches and improve annual audit ratings.
Giles Perritt, Head of Continuous Improvement at Plymouth City Council explained, “Compliance, best practice and the ability to audit are increasingly becoming key elements to our journey towards excellence. We decided to act proactively to put ourselves in the best possible position to promote better understanding of our policies. With NETconsent’s software in place I feel confident that we have taken positive steps to ensure policy management activities”.
Dominic Saunders, Operations Director at NETconsent said, “Policy management is an area that has in the past been overlooked by public sector management, but is now proving essential to protect both employers and employees. Creating processes to prevent possible security risks or litigation is a ‘must do’ for all local authorities in order to meet their regulatory obligations”.
