Policy Enforcement at access to the Internet

WEBconsent enables organisations to present policies to users at the point of access to the Internet or to Internet based services.

When a user connects to the Internet, or to Intranet or Extranet services, the NETconsent Policy Server is checked to see whether the user has any outstanding policies that have been enforced at WEBconsent. If there is nothing outstanding, the user is seamlessly granted access to the requested service. However if the user has not signed up to an outstanding policy, they are redirected to the NETconsent Policy Management Centre and presented with the pending policy prior to continuing.

WEBconsent may be implemented in front of web filtering software, guaranteeing that users can not gain access to Corporate Internet facilities until they have signed the Internet Acceptable Usage Policy.

“ Clinical Negligence costs are still escalating in the NHS and one of the best ways to reduce such claims is to ensure all staff are working to the same policy and procedures. It was considered that NETconsent would enhance our response to external NHS auditors such as the NHSLA and the Healthcare Commission. ”
